Katanga

... was a province of DR Congo, from 1966 to 2015. In 2015 it was split into four separate provinces: Tanganyika, Haut–Lomami, Lualaba and Haut–Katanga.

Between 1971 and 1997 (during the rule of Mobutu Sese Seko, when Congo was known as Zaïre), Katanga was officially known as Shaba Province.
